Mortgage deals hit new low

THE number of mortgage products available to new borrowers has hit its lowest figure since the start of the credit crunch.
There were 3,281 mortgages available for new borrowers yesterday, compared with 10,726 a year ago, according to Moneyfacts, the financial information service. At the height of the market in July 2007, there were 13,027 offers.
