THE CAGE WAS UNLOCKED ALL ALONG

****

LEFT IN THE DARK, £12.72
THIS motley trio of multi-instrumentalists hailing from England, Ireland and Canada first converged in Glasgow in 2006. Their full-length debut album demonstrates how far they have come since the typical indie jangle of their first single Foxtrot Vandals (included here).

Highlights of this subtly forged indie folk set include We All Hid In Basements, about love in the time of apocalypse, Two White Ghosts, a whimsical tale of identity in a foreign land, the mournful violin gracing the folky City Is Exploding and the utterly blissful Nae Wonder, which appears to have floated in from another era.
