HEARTS manager Csaba Laszlo believes experience is the key as he sets about rebuilding his side for next season.
Robbie Neilson, Christos Karipidis and Bruno Aguiar have all left Tynecastle on freedom of contract, leaving significant gaps in the Hearts squad.

Laszlo will meet majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov in Lithuania next week to discuss potential
replacements and he will be seeking some tried-and-trusted names to augment the up-and-coming stars from the club's youth academy.

Ian Black has completed his move to Tynecastle from Inverness and Laszlo is also keen that the versatile Pole, Adrian Mrowiec, be re-signed, while former Scotland defender Maurice Ross, available on freedom of contract, and Aberdeen's Lee Miller have been linked with the club.

"We need replacements for Karipidis, Bruno, (Christophe] Berra and Robbie," Laszlo said. "I am not searching for talent, I need players with experience. I would like to have two other strikers with good experience.

"We have a lot of talent and I don't think we must search for talent. The coaches from the academy have done a very good job in the past and we have a lot of good players from the academy. Now we must look for experienced players."

Meanwhile, former Hearts midfielder Paul Hartley has confirmed he has been offered the chance to return to Tynecastle from Celtic.

He said: "I'm not going to lie and say that there hasn't been interest from Hearts. There has been and it's something that appeals to me. I had four special years there and won the Scottish Cup in 2006. The fans were great for me and I have never forgotten that. It is very flattering that Hearts would like me back.

"I've got so many happy memories of my time at Tynecastle and Csaba Laszlo has done a great job in his first season, they finished third without Csaba spending much money.

"But I don't know what's going to happen. I've got a few options and I'm not ruling out anything."

I know he may be a bit long in the tooth and I did say yesterday that it would be a backward step for Hearts but now having thought about it maybe Paul Hartley would be good for us for a season or two.Worth a go I reckon.

# 6 Khashoghi,

Going backwards since 1874???????

What kind of a stupid pointless statement is that?

Clearly you are a moron, or you wouldn't have made such an idiotic comment.

If we've been going backwards since 1874 then this would now be the year 1739, the same year for all clubs around the world.

Think about it f-k-wit

Is this Csaba preparing the Jam Tart faithful for the devastating news that there will be no "big name" signings this close season ?

8 Not devastating news no Jambo's expect big name signings.
A couple of decent experienced steady players and we will be fine plus a goalscorer

11 I also have many fond memories of Hartley and think they should remain fond would not want the same thing to happen to him as did Neil Mcann.
I think we are ok in his department with Stewart,Palaz,Black and Jonson so IMO would rather bring in fresh new faces

#12 Agree with these sentiments but Hartley is now more of a stopper and could be useful in crunching Rearend in derby games.

Well if Csaba thinks talent is not the most important factor, he could search for players down at Hibs. Lord knows they have a real abundance of no talent.

Hope Paul Hartley does come back to us. Remembered him when we played Dunfermline at east End park in the cup he sat in amongst the Hearts supporters and had no problems signing autographs, chatting with the fans and getting his photo taken before, during and after the game.Says a lot for the guy really, not many football internationalists would have done that.I'm sure he would like to be back in the limelight as well as he didn't get as much media intervues/coverage as he did when he was with the Hearts.Bring him back Vlad!!

15 I sat with Walter Kidd a while back and had a beer with him and Gary Mckay, gary even got my lads strip signed by the players at a later date.
Do you suffest we bring them back also.

Hartley was great at Hearts but we cannot let sentiment rule time for new faces

15 All i am saying is that your point has nothing to do with his ability or what he would bring to the team.
You want him back because you sat beside him at a game
20

KeithD,

Fife 12/06/2009 11:06:49
No mate I wasn't beside him at the game but i did see how he interacted with the fans and in my book that says a lot for the guy.Don't get me wrong if he was garbage I wouldn't want him back but from what I seen of him when he did get a game for Celtic he was just as good as when he was with the Hearts, I think he could still do a great job for us.
21

huggs,

12/06/2009 11:10:57
20 Like i say great at Hearts and a nice guy i would rather remember him that way thats all

Csaba will decide anyway so hopefully we can see some movement on the transfer front in the next few weeks

Hartley would be a good signing for us but more important is getting in a couple of goalscorers. At the moment we dont have anyone that you could say would get 10 goals a season. Last season the chances that were missed wasnt real. Looking forward to the new season already

Surefire,

13/06/2009 03:24:37
maybe JJ will be released by hibs and has the experience Hearts need up front. Would be a great signing.
