Allan Crossman (Letters, 12 January) finds it troubling that "both Christianity and Islam tell us God plans to torture the bulk of humanity in Hell for all eternity". Since we Jews get a lot of bad publicity because of the traditional supercessionist theologies of both, it may surprise him that Judaism does not require everyone to convert to it. Talmudic rabbis teach "the righteous of all nations have a place in the world to come".
