Raw materials costs rise

RAW material costs for factories rose at their fastest annual pace in at least 14 years last month on the back of a surge in fuel prices.
Incoming prices rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.9 per cent in December last year taking the annual rate to 17.2 per cent, the highest since records began in 1991.

Costs related to crude oil rose at an annual 61.7 per cent - its fastest pace since September 2000.
