Well, what can I say - we stil haven't really resolved the problem ourselves. Had her parents had a son, we wouldn't have had the current queen. Princess Anne does not come after Prince Charles' offspring as next in line, she is after her younger brother Edward - in an ideal world where succession should be based on age rather than gender, perhaps we too have some constituitonal issues to resolve. When will such discussion take place, I wonder?

The question is why do we even have a line of succession.
And yes we have some constituional issues liek the foramtion of an independant Scotland, much more important than anything to do with monarchy

I find it difficult to understand why, in the 21st century, we should still be discussing such gender equality issues. This should have been sorted out decades ago!

Ann - good point. Princess Anne comes after Edwards' children/child (not sure how many he's got now) - seems a little unfair -especially as she's got a bit more about her!!

I wonder what will happen if William has a daughter first and then a son................ will they change the succession in the future. That's if the Royal Family are still going then of course!!
