Or how about something more gentle such as Little House on the Prairie (good wholsesome Christian fare) or Stars on Sunday (good whole Christian fare)?

No 8 re: make love not war. Sexual Intercourse is not love. It is still the most common assumption (from way back in the 60's & 70's) that "making love" ie copulating, was the opposite of war. Wrong! Sexual Intercourse is just sexual intercourse. It may be done as an expression of love but, more frequently, it is an expression of lust. You may have intercourse because you love someone, but you never love someone because you had intercourse with them. So what you're really saying is "have sexual intercourse, not war". Sounds good, but the two are never mutually exclusive. Sorry 'bout that.

Sex is sex. Sex is fun. "Sin" is a stupid self serving fallacy that leads potentially rational people to spend a lifetime on a guilt trip and/or trying to persuade everyone else to join them. There are two things about porn when you look at it. While I disagree with the label "filth", (obviously the above author has issues dealing with mature entertainment and also needs as much protection if not more from the said "filth" that he is unable to deal with except by denying everyone else who might otherwise be capable), I do agree that children's moral compass needs to be set within a "clean" environment until they can demonstrate the maturity to decide for themselves their own use for and understanding of such mature entertainment resources.
After all, we can agree that children should not play in traffic, and neither should they have to cope with adult entertainment resources.

HUH! What!! No, no, no!! Bad idea, why does the above author want to deny a separate domain that would permit even the lamest web browser program (Micro$oft and IE) to filter out ALL current and future porn based on a single criteria, and yes, simple ".XXX"?

As a Muslim, I feel it is my responsibility to clear up some points stated in this article. Islam does not permit pornography, drugs, or alcohol, the same way as it does not permit sexism, coercion, and discrimination of any kind. These Afghani people have been repressed for so many years by the psychotically religious Taliban regime. Islam does not want fanatics, it wants people to be practicing Muslims but not to the extent that one can't live a daily life. For example, women can show there faces on television, there is nothing wrong with that just as long as they are covered. The fact that today in Afghanistan a covered woman shows her face on tv will be punished does not follow Islam. Pornography is a violation of everything Islam believes. Contrary to the popular belief, Islam respects women, in every way...though they are repressed in certain countries due to overzealous tyrants who want treat their women like dogs, no woman should have to have sex on a videotape while perverted men druel over them!!! Pornography takes away the respect of the women as well as the virtues of the man. No man should feel lust for any woman who is not his wife. As far as drugs and alcohol are concerned...they distort an individual's perception and people can do heinous things when they are under the influence...so these Afghani people do not have the right guidance, they have been repressed for years and it is up to the government to bring the right Islam back to the country, an Islam that respects each individual, an Islam where every individual has dignity, that egalitarian society that our Prophet Muhammad left for us...that unfortunately no Muslim took advantage of because power and greed were much more important. I beleive that the whole situation is beyond Sad! Where are the Women's Rights groups? Where are the lines drawn for pedofiles? Forced marriage of Children is Beyond Horrible! What is being missed here is that the US and NATO are supposedly in Afghanistan to help them develop a Western style democracy. Providing them with the aspects of Western culture they hate isn't much of a way to "win hearts and minds" and make a case for democracy. Apparently this is making the Taleban is more appealling. The point I attempted to make was that...YES EVERYONE does think sooner or later about sex, but the fact of the matter is that in ISLAM it is wrong...Islam does not permit any form of depravity where a man or woman may lose their dignity...Afghanistan is far from having a stable government with stable laws and rules...i agree with many of you, what kind of country allows for pedofiles, what kind of country allows for coercion of woman? Not even Islam follows that...these rules that were implemented were set down by people who themselves dont know their Islam...but as a Muslim nation, with the help of the US government a government must be established in Afghanistan a government that will prohibit porn, drugs, and any other kind of behavior that goes against the religion, then people can live in harmony...yes there will always be perverts and psychos, but no Muslim should have to raise their child in a nation that permits such things, as a parent a mother or father wants to implement good values and teachings in their child...therefore i am not blaming them for having porn im just simply saying that it should come to a stop
