Proof positive that you can be a vicious despot , ruin your country and let people starve, all without even a hint of outside interference if you haven't got oil or some other commodity the rest of the World wants.

Mugabe must have heard that one of the Zimbabwans still had a unit of money, and wanted to include that unit of money in his coffers for his retirement.
Humankind is too stupid to survive!

It was reported on the news yesterday that travelling Zimbabweans going home for Xmas could not get into the country, nor could they leave as the passport control offices have no ink or paper.

People who have never lived in Africa have no inclination of the mindset that exists within the head of an African leader.

Almost in every instance there will be turmoil, corruption, civil war, genocide, poverty, internal ruling party strife, economic meltdown and unrest.

Zimbabwe had an appartheid system. Impallitable, yes but way better than the current system of systematic starvation and displacement. Mugabe wanted the white people out, he obtained 90% of his objective and as a result the nations economy went into freefall.

South Africa is next! It is already happening here. The end is nigh!

The artice in last weeks local newspaper named "state of the nation" reveals some shocking facts. Have a read its quite unbelievable!

This is an awesome country! But it appears it wont be for long.

From what I've seen of South Africa (crime paranoia, mass unemployment, public sector corruption and power brownouts), I'd have to agree, it seems to be living on borrowed time.

And from those smug anti apartheid campaigners from Scotland and elsewhere who were so self righteously vocal in the 90s, what have they to say now? I wonder if they look at Zimbabwe and reflect on the wisdom of telling people how to run another country from afar.

All of Africa is corrupt and poverty stricken. It appears that African leaders see themselves as CHIEFS as opposed to public servants.

Mugabe was supposed to be fighting for liberation. Instead he starves his people to death and becomes the ultimate dictator. African's just cant do it, their only hope is for the white man to return.

But the leaders would never permit that to happen!

There's no doubt that corruption explains a large part of African poverty; however it's hardly the only reason:

Dougie: It would appear that you are right. Faculty of mind would assist the masses in challenging the CHIEFTAN rulers.

Its a sad sad state of affairs! I see this astonishingly beautiful country and its very modern infrastructure and wealth slowly eroding day by day! It is quite unbelievable and very sad.

From what I have seen she is surely in utter destruction under Africa leadership.

I just cannot see how it will ever be different. At the moment the Africans are some 80 to 100 years behind the rest of the world. In another 50 years they could be as much as 300 years behind.

South Africa is the last pillar and she is definately going to topple. You cannot sustain an economy when the people who built it are leaving due to high levels of crime and government corruption.

Hm. ROBERT Mugabe is expected to be given an additonal two years as president of Zimbabwe, with the ruling party expected to endorse a controversial proposal to extend his rule until 2010. Wait a minute, what year is this. Is this an error or do they vote early, like, really early. Oh well, all will be fine, then. Now, let me see, will this mean the death of 10,000, 100,000 or 1,000,000 oppressed people during his exended governance. And what's this country's and the rest of the civilised world's, like the european states', contribution to limiting this disasterous state of affairs. Tell you in 2010.

He's already done all the damage he can do to his country ..... what's he going to do with an extra two years?
