Carrying their message from "east to west"! If people would manage to look beyond the iraq war, they would see that their plan of an islamic world domination is coming together nicely. BTW- The first I heard of this was at least a year before the iraq war. But it has been written and reported about since the late 90's.
It's a worrying situation, and we in the non-Islamic world should be vocally and physically opposing them everywhere. I mean seriously opposing, like deporting any that move out of line with their adopted country's mores. Western politicians court them simply for votes. Bad move.
My very good friend and professional colleague in Jakarta, a Christian lady, tells me she and her family and like-minded friends live in constant fear of these sub-human medieval scumbags. We are talking here about human detritus that arbitrarily chop off the heads of innocent schoolgirls, who just happen to belong to a different religious grouping. Personally, I hate religion for what has been, past and present, propagated in its name.

#7 I disagree. Jakarta is a huge sprawl with dreadful traffic jams. Its lack of an effective rubbish collection system results in rubbish being dumped in open drain which then fail to flow when floods come which makes the floods much worse.
In Indonesia Christians are discriminated against by the Muslim majority in both education and jobs

I liked the Howard speech you linked to above. In particular, this part:

It's the kind of honest attitude we expect from our Australian friends. It used to be used against us "whinging poms" long before Howard. So I don't think he can take credit for the attitude. (I suspect his replacement will have an attitude too.)
But how do you square the above sentiments with what Muslims do in their own countries? Is it any business of ours whether they adopt Sharia law or amputate the hands of criminals.
Interestingly, Howard is very similar in political outlook to Tokyo's populist governor, Ishihara.
