I wonder if this Pan European/American attempt at installing a puppet government will lead anywhere.

I hope the idiots who came up with this idea have thought it all through, it would be a real disaster if Pakistan's nuclear arsnal fell into religious extremist hands.

I wonder if the powers that be happened to notice it's not a quaint little ex-colony anymore but an extremely powerfully armed nuclear power??

If Musharraf has any sense, he'll impose martial law and take Sharif, Bhutto and Khan out of the picture.

Because if he loses to any of these characters ... you can say goodbye to Pakistan within five years to a hardline Muslim government like that of Iran. Democracy will die completely in Pakistan, because Sharif, Bhutto and Khan will be overthrown by the extremists.

Right now Pakistan needs Musharraf more than they realise. And Musharraf needs a free hand to deal with militant extremism!
