AT LEAST 20 people attending a wedding were killed in a missile strike by coalition forces in Afghanistan, it was reported yesterday.
Local people claimed the group was a wedding party in eastern Nangarhar province and that most of the dead were women and children. The US said those killed were militants involved in previous mortar attacks on a Nato base. Meanwhile Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, has ordered an investigation into a missile attack by US helicopters on Friday in which 15 people died.
