BRITAIN'S biggest renewable energy exhibition and conference is set to break visitor and exhibitor records when it opens in Aberdeen this month.
The All Energy 09 exhibition, which will showcase the latest innovations in wind, wave and tidal power, will open at the city's exhibition and conference centre on 20 May.

This year's show will feature the largest exhibition ever staged at All Energy, with more than 360 exhibitors from 13 countries in the two halls.

More than 4,500 visitors from home and overseas have already registered to attend – a record figure.

Judith Patten, a spokeswoman for Media Generation Events, one of the show's main organisers, said: "We look well set for success at this, the ninth annual All-Energy. We expect both the exhibition and conference to be really busy."

The conference section of All Energy will begin with a session at which the speakers will include Ed Miliband, the Secretary of State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and Jim Mather, Scotland's minister for Enterprise and Energy.

This is just as bad as the MP's expenses.
They all want a slice of the subsidies.

Notice that the large Array mooted for the Thames estuary is likely to go ahead after the government decided to double the taxpayer-funded subsidy. No surprise there then.

I wonder if they will all be travelling by bicycle to save on CO2 emissions?
yet another gravy train subsidised by the taxpayer

'More than 4,500 visitors from home and overseas have already registered to attend'?????? Now remind me what.....what is the population of Scotland, never mind the UK??????..and it is hardly a record breaking occasion I would suggest when you compare it with Silverstone which is in the lower half of the attendance bracket, as GPs go. Average attendance for the British GP is in the 135,000 spectator range.

Plenty cynicism abounding over Renewables, & perhaps understandable in its early days. But it will be interesting to see how this develops & whether Scotland can sustain part of its economy from this sector. If it can bring jobs & a future to many, perhaps it will have been a prize worth pursuing.
