Whichever way you look at it, Martin is an embarrassment to Scotland. But then, so is New Labour. And then again, so is any Scottish so-called 'Unionist' (i.e. British Nationalist) who supports the British Nation State instead of the Scottish Nation and State in all respects. That also makes Mr. Monteith an embarrassment. Wha's like us indeed.

At a time when the UK is in recession, and probably entering a deep depression, the last thing the public are interested in is a party political argument about antediluvian practices and procedures in a Victorian building!

The fact of the matter is that Damien Green "groomed"
a young, impressionable Tory voting civil servant bound by the civil service code and Official Secrets Act, in order to leak confidential information to the media!

David Cameron aspires to be the PM? If, in power would he allow an Opposition Member of Parliament to act in the same unethical, and possibly criminal manner?

The civil servant involved commited a crime. If he did it because he was persuaded to do so by the tories then they have committed a crime too.
