Out of focus
BSkyB, the satellite broadcaster, added 83,000 net new customers to its pay-TV service in the first quarter, but its adjusted operating profit was lower than expected because of increased programme and broadband costs.
Adjusted operating profits were £150 million, down from £183m in the first quarter last year and below the average City forecast of £166m.
