SCOTT Brown, Celtic and Scotland football star, is mourning the death of his younger sister from cancer.
Fiona Brown, 21, died after a long battle with the disease.

His family were last night understood to be gathered at their home in Hill of Beath, near Dunfermline, Fife.

In a statement on the club website, Celtic said: "The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Celtic are with Scott and his family at this difficult time.

"This is an extremely difficult time for the entire family and naturally, we would ask that the family's privacy is respected."

Midfielder Brown, 22, is originally from Fife and joined Celtic from Hibernian last May in a £4.4 million transfer, the biggest ever between two Scottish clubs.

He has already gained eight caps for Scotland but is rested from the squad playing the Czech Republic this afternoon.
