• CELTIC are to play manager Gordon Strachan's former club Southampton this summer in a testimonial for Saints stalwart Claus Lundekvam. The Norwegian international played more than 400 matches for the St Mary's outfit after signing in 1996 but was f
orced to announce his retirement in March following a serious ankle injury. Strachan, who spent two-and-a-half successful years at Southampton, will take his team south for the benefit match on Friday, 18 July.

Leaving Cappielow are Scott McLaughlin, Deen Keenan, Dave McGurn, Craig Black and Scott McKellar. Spiders snubbed • QUEEN'S Park have been dealt a blow off the park with the news that their bid for Fifa's highest award has proved unsuccessful. The Hampden club had applied for Fifa's Order of Merit which is only awarded to clubs and individuals who are considered to have made a significant contribution to football. So far only two clubs – Real Madrid and Sheffield FC – have been accepted.
