STV is a complete dog's breakfast of a voting system. Applying it to an independence referendum really would put the cat amongst the pigeons!

If it's that easy how come there were tens of thousands of rejected council ballot papers last year? - far, far more than the handful of usually deliberately spoiled ballot papers you normally get.

And just try finding out who your local councillor is now? It's a real mess - no clarity of representation at all. Just confusion and diffusion of responsibility.
