DONALD Trump, left, has launched a tirade against one of the most vocal critics of his controversial golf resort development in Scotland.
The billionaire businessman has accused Councillor Debra Storr of trying to "harass and discredit" his plans for the Menie Estate by lodging a formal police complaint against his staff.

Ms Storr, one of several Liberal Democrats to quit the ruling administration on Aberdeenshire Council in protest at the way the development was handled, claims she was harassed for taking photographs of locked access gates on the estate. But Mr Trump, who has been accused of flouting right-to-roam laws, insisted: "We have never barred the public from our site."

In a letter to Ms Storr, he said: "It has become clear to everyone your bitter and negative campaign against this project is purely motivated by self-interest and your irrational need to promote an extremely unpopular personal agenda."

Ms Storr said: "The fact that Mr Trump has resorted to personal abuse seems little more than an attempt to deflect attention away from the real issue of legal public rights of access."

The Trump was always going to ignore the access code (SOAC), just as he feels that other laws should not get in the way of his overweening ego. If there is a case to be made by Ms Storr, then the police should be informed. If The Trump has done nothing against SOAC he can stop bullying and blustering as nothing will be done. His response suggests that he is getting his retaliation in first in the hope of brow-beating Grampian's finest into ignoring any offences.

This is Trump's Vietnam. An unelected coiffured oaf like him has no right to criticise an elected official who I happen to agree with. The fact is this scheme was to make Trump money not Aberdeenshire plebs and given the economic downturn it will never make him a penny but will destroy a piece of irreplacable land. Well done Mr Salmond's best chum!!

Is this why your relatives fought and died in WWII? So a greedy, ignorant, puffed-up egotist like Trump could sweep into Scotland and subvert your morals, values, and democracy itself. Shame on you Scotland- Trump is an own goal.

I've never heard Storr being described as "Scotland's finest" before. Obviously don't know what you are talking about. The woman and her colleagues are total liabilities and no longer represent the feelings and wishes of their constituents.

Miss Dee #3, It's golf course ya numpty! It's inward investment. It will create jobs and boost the local economy. The vast majority of people and the vast majority our elected representatives are behind these plans.
Do you think he's building a death camp? Perhaps you're having nightmares that he's planning on rounding up our numpties and sending them for a shower?

What Trump is saying, or rather doing, is preparing the way for withdrawing.

There are no bank loans (or banks!) for such a grandiose unneccesary scheme and he knows it. He will blame the council and those who wish to protect Scotland's integrity.

No. 5 - You did not hear it from me either (read my post again). If you got out a bit more you would realise that '###'s Finest' is a well known term for the local Police Force. Try this: http://www.word-detective.com/0806C.html. Next time, think before you post nonsense.

What then has Trump to say about once again showing his statements to the PLI (under oath!) to be quite false - Namely when he claimed that he would respect laws on access to his estate.

Equally, his "security" staff displayed a lack of professional competence that is simply inexcusable in these SIA-licenced and regulated times.

Storr's photos are linked here and I'd be very surprised if the locked gates and intimmidating signs (only recently changed from warnings of guard dogs) are in any way compliant with the spirit or letter of the Access Code:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=112206909353892529851.0004663083ff80b428db9&ll=57.276212,-2.032127&spn=0.014384,0.037251&source=embed

As for the other article, where Hobday claims she was taking "illegal photos" - Again, that is contemptable. There are no laws preventing photography in any outdoor place where the public could reasonably assumed to have access.

As for Hobday's claims in the previous article, that Storr was "illegally taking photos ." - Complete rubbish! There is no law preventing photography of in any place where the public can reasonably be assumed to have access. Disengenious in the extreme and another inkling of the contempt that Trump and his cronies hold for this country.

#8 Brian - Trump is not using any more than a small sum of his own money to start the scheme off.

The sum given in evidence at the PLI was around £12 million, with the rest raised from loans and "investors"

The relavent article is further back in this topic if you want to confirm.

No. 12 - You may be niggly - how should I know? You also are apparently unable to accept that a) you quoted my post wrongly; and b) you accused me on the basis of *your* ignorance of being uninformed.

Grow up, if you want to play big-boys' games.

What business did the woman have on Menie and who bought and paid for the car that she drives about in?

#14 - she is the elected local councillor, and last time I looked, I thought anyone could own a car. And she has every right to access the estate just like the rest of us. Pity about the fencing, the heavies and the nasty warnings, trying to keep us ordinary folk out.

In Storr's case, Trump didn't want to keep her out, he just had his heavies keep her in when she wanted to leave. What lovely blokes they must be seeing a single woman walking with a stick as a threat.

Maybe some folk here are trying to keep in DT's good books as perhaps he'll invite them to tea?
