ALEX Rae, the Dundee manager, is pinning his promotion hopes on recent signings Colin McMenamin and on-loan Hibs youngster Mickael Antoine-Curier after the duo helped rout Stirling Albion 6-1.
The Tayside club celebrated their biggest away league win in 12 years and turned up the heat on league leaders Hamilton in the title race. Rae pointed out: "Mickael and Colin have scored eight between them in four games."

Antoine-Curier knocked
in two and had another effort deflected in off Laurie Ellis as the Dens Park side swept aside Albion, with further goals coming from McMenamin, Bob Davidson and Derek Lyle.

But Dundee may find it difficult to overtake Hamilton Academical, who showed no sign of weakening in their 3-1 win over Livingston.

Accies manager Billy Reid said: "Dundee and St Johnstone might have thought this was going to be an awkward game for us and we would slip up. At this stage of the season it is all about winning and that is what we are aiming to do."

Tony Stevenson gave Hamilton an early lead, and they went two ahead when an attempted clearance by Livingston defender Craig James struck his goalkeeper, Colin Stewart, and rebounded into the net. A Mark McLaughlin header sealed the win. Steven Craig pulled one back.

New Morton manager David Irons saw his side take the lead with a Peter Weatherson goal against St Johnstone, but the Perth side hit back with a Steve Milne double.

Elsewhere, ten-man Queen of the South held on for goalless draw away to Partick Thistle after defender Jim Thomson was sent off.

At Broadwood, gale force winds spoiled Dunfermline Athletic's 2-1 win over Clyde, goals coming from Steve Simmons and Mark Burchill.

Dundee and Hamilton still have to face each other twice so it is not over by any means. The last game of the season could be winner takes all as they meet each other at Dens Park that day.

Next week's matches could be interesting - Dundee at home to Saints and Hamilton away to in-form Queen of the South. Potential for dropped points for both teams.
