DUNDEE United are considering a third bid from Reading for the services of striker Noel Hunt.

Hunt missed last night's 3-2 friendly win at Dunfermline through injury. Manager Craig Levein said: "They have made a bid, it is under consideration."
Midfielder Scott Robertson ensured United emerged with a win at East End Park with a superb late strike.

The hosts took the lead on 57 minutes when Scott Thomson rose unmarked to head Alex Burke's corner into the net. Within 60 seconds, however, United substitute Francesco Sandaza cleverly turned Greg Shields in the six-yard box before steering the ball past Paul Gallacher. The Spaniard doubled his tally three minutes later with a precise 18-yard shot.

Dunfermline restored parity in the 67th minute through Nicky Phinn but Robertson's superb strike from the edge of the box settled the match in style.

Dunfermline: Gallacher, Woods, McCann (McGregor 82), Phinn (Thompson 78), Thomson (Wilson 69), Shields, Harper, Glass, Bayne (White 72), Burke, Muirhead (McIntyre 45), (Willis 53). Subs not used: Reidford.

Dundee Utd: McGovern, Grainger, Wilkie (Dillon 69), Dods, Flood (McCord 45), Feeney (Shandaza 45) (Goodwillie 82) , S Robertson, D Robertson (Swanson 82), Gomis (Buaben 45), Kovacevis, Shala (Daly 45). Subs not used: Dixon.

Referee: Stephen Finnie

Attendance: 1,586

Take the money CL, you only paid 50k it will show a nice profit and the players that have been brought in as strikers are younger and scoring in the preseason.

It seems inevitable that Hunt will go, and for a side outside the Old Firm it becomes a gimme, especially when it gan be used to reduce the club debt of circa £5m. It represents a fabulous return, and I'd rather he went to Reading where he'll be alongside Stephen than sign for the plastics as a benchwarmer.
Rangers fans I suspected will be breathing a sigh of relief at his departure, and whilst I'm still deafened by the silence of both the SFA/SPL regarding the disgraceful chants (the Famine Song) directed against Noel in 'That Game', I have absolute faith that Craig Levein will unearth another thorn for their bigotted asses.

Good luck Noel

It is inevitable that Hunty leaves at some stage & management encourage being at Dundee Utd to provide them w/ a stage to be able to move onwards & upwards. It would be great to get a minimum of £750k w/sell-on fees so let's hope that CL can push fer something more lucrative than a measly £500k+.
We are well covered & in Feeney have a ready-made replacement & he looks the biz. In Shala, Sandaza, Daly, Kevin Smith & possibly Goodwillie, we have some able-bodied replacements as well as the new Spaninsh trialist who may also pan out.
It is good business based on a £50k purchase no doubt & we must not forget a word of thanks to Craig Brewster fer his wisdom in signing him in the 1st place.

5 - Nah, you'd be best advised to hang on to your better players otherwise how do you expect to get any better?

Thats why teams like Dundee Utd are the root cause of the recent trough that scottish football is only just emerging from. No ambition and poor stewardship.

How do you expect Dundee Utd to attract more fans and thus more money if you don't give would be supporters something to cheer about. Its easy to blame others rather than face up to our own shortcomings in life and supporting a football team is no different.
