FLANKER Scott Newlands has pledged his future to Edinburgh by agreeing a new two-year contract with the club. The 23-year-old has established himself as a regular in the capital side's back row and had no hesitation in signing an extension.
Newlands believes Edinburgh will challenge for trophies over the next two seasons. He said: "I've signed for two years and I think Edinburgh can win silverware within that time, whether it's the Heineken Cup or the Magners League.
"I've tried to build on my performances week in, week out. We're moving up the league and I'm really excited about what we can achieve next year."
Newlands was called into Scotland's squad as cover ahead of the opening RBS Six Nations match against Wales and hopes to have further involvement with the national team in the future. He said: "It was the highlight of the season for me."
