PROPOSALS to legalise assisted suicide were yesterday lodged in parliament by the MSP behind calls for an overhaul.
Margo MacDonald's End of Life Choices Bill attracted the cross-party support of 18 MSPs.

She will now sit down to draft a more detailed bill with Holyrood officials which is likely to come before parliament's health committee later in the year.

"The support has been right across the board from MSPs and that really pleases me because that's a true reflection of the kind of people who have been writing to us in the consultation," said Ms MacDonald.

The Independent MSP must now wait up to a month to see if the Scottish Government decides to lodge its own bill on the issue.

The proposal allows the terminally ill to seek a doctor's help in dying.

It is quite weird that modern medicine allows folk to live beyond their allotted span and yet cannot design a modus operandi for folk who suffer considerable pain and wish to die. Rather than rely on their relatives or doctors, pick a representative from the Catholic, Protestant or Islamic communities and let them talk to the guy to find out his true feelings. It is just a matter of finding a way to go.
Personally I reckoned on a twenty five year old malt, maybe 75% proof, a good chicken currie, with a large onion. Plus maybe Hornblower series on the video. Not a bad way to go. However knowing my luck I would most likely finish up in the morning still alive with a king size hangover. Aye it is a joke, I do not fear death, but sure as heck I could not abide pain.

The Headline writer and the “Editor” should be ashamed of this piece of Excreta.

Try this link for a reasonable piece of informed writing and comment on this very emotive subject.

Margo did manage to get the required 18 MSP’s to support her proposal, I for one will be writing to both MSP’s that are supposed to be representing me at Holyrood and asking why their support is missing.
