FROM the Grand Prix we now turn to the Grand Slam, with the fourth M–Tel Masters, opened by Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, now underway at the Military Club in the capital city of Sofia.
The Grand Slam is a series of major super-tournaments that includes Sofia, Linares, Wijk aan Zee and Mexico City, with the winners going forward later in the year to meet in the final tournament of the circuit in Bilbao, Spain.
