Herald editor McGhee resigns

THE editor of the Herald newspaper, Charles McGhee, has resigned, the paper said yesterday. Mr McGhee took over at the Glasgow-based broadsheet in January 2006.
He was previously editor of sister paper the Evening Times and consultant editor for the launch of the Sunday Herald.

It is understood he will be working a period of notice.

If its improvement you're looking for, you're looking in the wrong direction. The last two and a half years have seen a steady decline in the honesty and integrity of The Herald and a cynical use of gutter letters and comments. His leaving was only a matter of time.
Perhaps The Scotsman editor will take note!
