COLIN Montgomerie had to settle for fifth place in the Egyptian Open at the Mirage City club in Cairo yesterday.
Europe's Ryder Cup skipper, three shots off the lead heading into the closing round, shot a level-par 72 for a six-under 282, seven strokes behind winner Steven Tiley.

Fife's former Scottish Amateur champion George Murray, four-under through 12, spilled two shots on the run in for a two-under 70 and finished sixth on a five-under 283. Ross Bain made it three Scots in the top 10 after a 70 to share seventh on 284. Simon Dunn (292) and Scott Jamieson (293) both finished well down the order.
