Gretna 1 Barr (80)
Inverness 2 McBain (71) Cowie (73)
On Saturday, they lowered their own attendance mark for the top flight, with only 431 souls turning out at Fir Park for a defeat to Inverness, 70 fewer than the total attendance for last month's match against Dundee United at the same venue. The r
ecord might only stand for four days unless St Mirren's visit to Fir Park on Wednesday night somehow pulls in supporters.

Saturday's defeat – combined with a ten-point deduction for entering administration – also means Gretna are likely to set a new record for fewest points in a season in the SPL. Assuming they even manage to fulfil their six remaining fixtures, they require another 13 points to inch ahead of Livingston's record low of 2006.

However, caretaker manager Mick Wadsworth has pledged to remain at Gretna throughout their troubles

as the former Carlisle boss feels a duty to help the youngsters who remain after 29 players and staff were made redundant last month.

Wadsworth said: "I spent some time away last week, looking at a job for next year, but there is not a cat in hell's chance I will take a job before whatever happens here happens.

"I want to stay and help these players, because they have been put in a really difficult situation through no fault of their own.

"A lot of people have lost jobs in the past few weeks. We are the lucky ones, because at least we have got something to do on a daily basis and we have something to hang on to in the short term."

Wadsworth will prepare the team for Wednesday's match but admits he has no idea if the club can finish the season.

However, he added: "I hope we get to the end of the season with a bit of dignity and pride to leave for whoever, we hope, takes over at the club."

Gretna survived an Inverness onslaught until the last 20 minutes when Roy McBain and Don Cowie struck in quick succession.

Craig Barr pulled one back, but Inverness saw out their first win in 12 games – since the last time they played Gretna.

It was striker Dougie Imrie's first taste of victory since leaving Clyde, and he is now looking to net his first goal.

He said: "I had a few chances, a couple of headers, but I am just glad we have got a win. That's the first since I came here, so I hope that gets the monkey off my back. I set up the first goal for Roy and put in a good ball for Don, so that was good."
