HAMILTON Accies have released Senegal skipper Lamine Diatta before he's kicked a ball in anger for the Lanarkshire club.
The 33-year-old former Lyon, Newcastle, Marseille and Rennes defender arrived at New Douglas Park last month and signed a deal until the end of the season.

However, manager Billy Reid has torn up his contract after deciding that Diatta wouldn't displace Mark McLaughlin or Chris Swailes in his back four.

"We took a chance on Lamine but, after looking at him in a few bounce games, I decided he wasn't going to feature for us so we might as well let him go," said Reid. "He's a good player but he wasn't what we needed."
