HAMILTON Accies received further recognition for their remarkable exploits in winning the First Division title when they scooped four awards at Irn-Bru's Scottish Football League awards ceremony.
The event was staged by the SFL's sponsors at Glasgow's Fruitmarket venue to recognise the best clubs, footballers and managers from across the First, Second and Third Divisions.

Hamilton won the team of the season award after their surprise Firs
t Division triumph, while Billy Reid, the man who masterminded the Lanarkshire side's promotion to the SPL, took the First Division manager of the season gong.

Striker Richard Offiong, who scored 21 goals during the campaign, was named First Division player of the season, while James McCarthy, Accies' outstanding 17-year-old midfielder, was presented with the SFL young player of the season award.

It wasn't just Hamilton who were rewarded at a ceremony held to mark the end of Irn-Bru's first year as SFL sponsors.

Ross County, who won the championship at a canter, dominated the Second Division awards, with Derek Adams collecting the manager of the season prize, and Andy Barrowman, the 24-goal striker, named player of the year.

Adams took over as head coach at Victoria Park in November after Dick Campbell's sacking, and sparked a significant upturn in fortunes which saw the Highland outfit finish a comfortable seven points clear of second-place Airdrie.

Third Division champions East Fife were recognised, with Dave Baikie claiming the manager of the season award and defender Jonathan Smart, who also chipped in with eight goals, taking the player of the season prize.

Queen of the South manager Gordon Chisholm received the achievement of the season award for guiding the First Division side to the Scottish Cup final.
