ROMANIAN Dumitru Copil will today patch up his differences with Hearts by returning to the club. The 18-year-old left for home without permission towards the end of last term and was subsequently fined and ordered to stay away until the start of pre-season.
The midfielder was recently named by World Soccer magazine as one of the top 50 most exciting teenagers in the game,

but has become increasingly frustrated at not making it into the first team.

But the youngster is determined to make a top-team breakthrough in the coming campaign and

agent Adrian Stefanescu said: "He will be back on Monday and he is looking forward to returning to Hearts."

He is hoping to get a chance in the first team and this is the only reason he is going back – to get a chance."

#1 scraping the barrel if you think that a young player returning to training is (a) news and (b) relevant to anything which will come out of Tynie this week.
FWIW I think there will be an announcement soon that Frail will be in charge "until a real manager comes along". And Frail unlike 99.9% of the population will be happy to live with this insult. That's about the biggest peiece of good news you'll hear this week I'm afraid.

Once again rangers fans on here quickly as they cannot go on to a Celtic site due to having abslutely no ammunition to slag them.
We are the only club in Scotland that they can actually slate - Sure isn't Celtic.....Bigger support , champions for three years going on ten , supporters no longer known for pillaging everywhere they go unlike the masonic manglers in Manchester, owners/board not known for being liers and dodgy dealers in transfers...... should I go on ?

12

Who?,

Copil has been a lazy wee sod since he arrived. If he doesn't get his way he blows up and the huff can take a while to subside.

What hearts need are players who are up to standard playing wise and have something between their ears.

Don't know if Copil does!

#24 JT&T, yep probably best not to get our hopes up on this one or get too excited about it.

it's got all the potential to be thrown back in our faces as "romanov PROMISED you santini... FACT".

#26 JT&T, good idea. we could even do it in russian and lithuanian.

are there any regulars on here who speak russian or lithuanian, real ones i mean?

25

Lenny,

23/06/2008 11:11:45
Vic

OR, you could get yourself all excited and tell us 'Hobo's' that we are now bricking it and that Santini will spend a 10M warchest and that now normal service will be resumed. Or something along those lines anyway, I'm sure we will hear it later on.

FWIW, in my opinion yes Santini probably is intersted at the moment. Sadly for you guys, I imagine this will change after just one meeting with Romanov. The potential of your club is not the issue in attracting candidates, its your owner and his insistance on playing 'live Championship Manager'.

I find it very strange that a world top 50 teenage footballers list would include an 18 year who has never played in the 1st team and who clearly has a motivation / attitude problem. Is the listing based on agent's propoganda per chance?

Having said all that I hope the hype is true and that the lad turns out to be a genius.

Hi JT&T, yeah a good weekend thanks. No live football tonight however!!!

I would be very surprised in this one myself. Everyone is coming to assumptions as no news is fothcoming from Hearts, but I believe that the team selection thing is the big stumbling block. It seems likely (with no proof of course) that this is the reason McGhee and Weiss have knocked the job back.

If correct, the main question is WHY does Romanov insist on involvement? His financial background proves he is not stupid, so why does he keep playing this card when it is quite obviously not working?

If your right then it really is a case of taking your seat and seeing where the ride takes you. My money is on the Kaunas manager and more of the same as last season.

re Vlads wealth, I'm sure in the last report I read it was something like 500M with most of it being in assets.

Raymond Domenech will be looking for a new job soon too! But he's even madder than Romanov, so I wouldn't get too excited by that one!

Santini is a good coach and he was one of the managers that have helped Lyon win their 7 league titles in a row!

Good to see that Hearts can attract European talent like that! He would get the nod from me over McGhee, Wiess and Thordson etc...

# 38 Maroon tinted glasses,

Yes dude, but many many Hearts fans are not better than that. Easy to forget becouse all the attention and rippings seem to be going Hearts direction just now, but the Hearts support are not exactly known for their sporting quietness when Hibs are going through a bad spell etc. Wee team and all that nonsense.

#33 Fair enough but I can't help but think that by 18 they should at least have been on the bench whereas in fact I'm not sure the two you mentioned even featured regularly in the reserves but rather were in the under 19s. I'm very wary of 16 year-olds with huge reputations. Firstly that in itself often goes to their head and their early promise is never fullfillied because of an attitude problem and secondly they have so much development mentally and physically at that point before anyone can know if all their neat tippy-tappy skills on a YouTube clip of a school boy match could ever translate to anything on a wet Wednesday night playing in a gale and sub-zero temperatures at Motherwell, for example. This lad is 18 now.

It's not uncommon for people to be established first team regulars by that age and I can think of many at Hearts - Robbo, Mackay, Bowman, McLaren, even Wallace from the current squad. Makes me question his real worth rather than his reputation as flouted by an agent.

Romanov's regime seem to have a habit of choosing players as a result of agents' videos and hype and with no regard to the players attitudes (Pinilla, for example) which any sensible football person would want to know about.

The only thing that seems certain when it comes to the search for our new manager seems to be that if you have a good pedigree and publicly state your interest in the role then you are not considered for it.

Santini?... Don't believe Vlad will even consider him... Hope I'm wrong though.

Thing is if i was able to see into the future and saw this was the position we would be in at this late stage of the summer break then I would have cried "shenannigans" as soon as wee Rodney got all upset and greetin' faced ordering us to "Back our man" (Frail) when he was forced to (inadequately) field angry questions from the shareholders about the manager search.

Copil's coming back? Don't give a flying duck really... Stay, go, buy a flat with Panilla and sign on for all I care... I am Jack's absolute sense of indifference really.

All other stories are just an annoying distraction to me just now as we lurch closer and closer to the start of pre-season training with Anni and Shaggy looking like the scream team who hold the hopes of the fans in their butter fingers.

Copil, Driver, Berra, Velicka... Yawn, yadah, yadah... zzzzzzzzzzzzz

The info on Santini was in the Glasgow Evening Times and his agent was in Glasgow and was interviewed there when he said he had put forward his client's name for the Hearts' job = it's 100% accurate and it's up to Hearts to get back to him which apparently they haven't as of this morning. Of course it could just be Santini's agent getting his client in the media and pushing for some interest in him as he's done nothing recently.
44

Roscoe P Coltrane,

Howdy all

With my paranoid head on, maybe Santini's agent has put his client forward for the JTs role so that Championship/lower Prem League teams think: "Good God, he's interested in the Hearts job, he must be desperate, maybe we can get him in here......."

Don't see this going any further, the poison dwarf isn't fond of people who know what they're doing and are happy to point out to others that they know what they're doing.

That's what I reckon too.

The guy's agent has gone to the paper and said that he would be willing to take the job, no quotes from hearts, no quotes from manager, no mention of any contact being made between us and agent, or us and manager, it seems to me to be like the manager is looking for a job and this story gets his name in the paper again, lets people know he is still about (said he hasn't worked for 2 years), kinda like billy davies, if he was serious about it then he would contact us, set up a meeting and go from there, he wouldn't try and conduct a job interview through the press.

As you can see I'm a little sceptical, all the other candidates seemed closer to the job because they had mentioned contact, even though this story says the agent has "told" vlad this, it seems to me that he has "told" vlad this through the express newspaper, not in a meeting or phonecall.

BBC report tonight that it is almost certain FRAIL is going to take charge of pre season training. That will mean we are not getting a new manager in for quite sometime. This is really taking the PI++ out of the fans,Can we beleave anything Romanov says??? personally I dont think so. This new stand as well its all a dream in his empty head. The mans a ROGUE nobody can tell me any different.
