Published Date: 26 August 2008
HIBS forward Abdessalam Benjelloun last night confirmed he will quit Easter Road after netting for Charleroi on his debut.
The Moroccan international is on loan with the Belgian club, but is due back in Edinburgh in January. He came on after an hour and claimed the winner five minutes later against Roeselare. He said: "There is an agreement in my contract that gives Charleroi the chance to buy me before January. If Charleroi decide to use this option, I will be happy. I wanted to leave Hibs because I need to try something new."

IMO Benji is as bad a diver as Miko - he was just rarely punished for it. Not a bad player though. Was his first intro to the hurly burly of Scottish football not that famous semi final in April 2006 when Hearts thrashed Hibs 4-0?

#2 & #4 Pulitzer

No prizes for guessing your affiliation with a post like #2. The difference between Benji and Miko is that Benji is able to turn across defenders and, when he takes the ball past them in this fashion, they inevitably bring him down by tackling across his thigh. Whereas Miko simulates a tackle across his ankles and plunges to the turf like he has had the ankles clipped when TV evidence usually shows that he has simulated the tackle. That's what makes Miko what he is - a cheat. Benji is just brought down, however soft might be the foul, it is technically a free kick.

So the only person shamed in this instance is you with your biased opinion, not the devil. The devil is sponsored by Specsavers!

Regarding the content of the story, lets see if Charleroi are impressed by a month long absence for Ramadan. Or will that not happen this year? Cue calls by Benji to John Collins for advice on diet and fluid intake.

THE SCOTSMAN FORUM MINILEAGUE

I have had to remove the following members from the Predictor minileague:

cailean
Deviskan
GreenhitthebluenoseNZ
herefordhearts
jamboben98

This is because you joined with the same user id you have been using since the start of the season and already have points on the board.

So that we can all start on ZERO points and a level playing field, please re-register under a new user id, which is what I did. I was originally regeistered as HarlemTam, but for The Scotsman minileague, I am Harlem_Tam, so as you can see, your new user id can be only slightly different.

I apologise for removing you guys, but the thing won't work if people go in with a head start.

Thanks

Here is the link to the BBC Sport Predictor:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotland/predictor/

I have set-up a minileague for all posters on here willing to join.

It’s just a bit of fun and it starts with next weekend’s SPL fixtures.

All you need to do is go to the link and create your own membership. Try and make your user id as close to the one you use on here, so we all know who you are.

NB. If you are already registered and have points on the board, please re-register with a slightly different user id for this minileague, so that everyone starts on ZERO points.

Once you’re in, select “My Minileagues” and enter . . .

The Scotsman Forum

. . . as the minileague name.

The password is . . .

thescotsman

Once you have joined the minileague, you can start making your predictions. You get 1 point for a correct result and 3 points for a correct score. After each set of fixtures you can check the minileague table to see where you are and who is on top etc.

Enjoy it. It’s just a bit of fun.

benji is a waste of space to any club, he spends half a season fasting.

A bit like Christian Nade who also spends half the season feasting.

Oh, sorry, did you say fasting?

10#...Morning Dood..

Here is the wise old Wookies prediction - Nade will score over 15 goals this season for Hearts..

He will them be sold in 18 months for in excess of 1.5 million.

Don't say I didn't tell you when he gets a double against Hibs in the first derby!!!

The Wookie was sleep walking and posted #11 in a dream. Almost no Hearts player has scored in double figures for a couple of seasons.

Wookie

I've just been onto the Ladbrokes site to see what Odds I would get on such an event.

Sadly the site crashed and now appears to be down. Such a stunning prediction even appears to have knackered the Ladbrokes Server (which is currently in fits of giggles).

Ive never been benji's biggest fan and he has some obvious flaws but that fact he scored on his debut for his new club, while we seem to be missing 4-5 good chances a game shows that Mixu has made a poor decision
