HIBERNIAN manager Mixu Paatelainen admits he may have to go into Saturday’s vital clash with Motherwell without key midfielders Guillaume Beuzelin and Brian Kerr.
Beuzelin has not featured since sustaining a knee injury in the 2-0 defeat to Celtic almost four weeks ago, and Kerr has been out since injuring his ankle against former side Motherwell a fortnight ago.
Both have returned to light training but Paa
telainen fears the duo may not be ready to face third-place rivals Motherwell at Fir Park this weekend.
He said: “Guillaume and Brian are training but they are still training with the physio. They are only doing a bit of running and they’re not yet taking part in the full session.
“Things are looking good for them in terms of their injuries but whether this weekend comes a bit too early for them we’ll have to wait and see.
”
The encounter with Motherwell will be the first to be staged on the troubled Fir Park pitch since Gretna played there on 6 March, and the first since chairman John Boyle asked for the surface to be given a break to sort out drainage problems.
It will be the Steelmen’s first match at home since the 1-0 defeat to Hearts five weeks ago, but Paatelainen is not expecting problems with the ground.
