HIBS look certain to be facing Swedish side Elfsborg when they kick off their season early in the Intertoto Cup in less than a fortnight.
The Easter Road side, who return for pre-season training today, face the winners of the first round clash between Elfsborg and HB Torshavn of the Faroe Islands, with the first-leg in the capital on 6 July.

And it was the Swedes who took a commanding 4-1 lead into their home leg on Saturday when they travelled to the Faroes for the first leg yesterday.

In a match refereed by Scot Calum Murray, the Boras-based outfit kept up their impressive recent record which has seen them lose only one of their opening 11 league games to go second in the Allsvenskan top-flight.

Don't see Hibs beating this outfit, they're too strong a side.

Hibs are up against it cannot see us beating this lot-Mixu;s fitba is not a patch on the free flowing styke of TM--Real lack of quality at ER--Rankin, Nish, 2 full backs are not hibs standard--Hogg, Murray, Jones, fletch, benji are of tghe correct standard thats it.not looking forward to new season..............

Very difficult start to the season.

After only 2 weeks pre-season having to take on sides who are well into their stride is no easy task.

Best of luck.

Though Hibs will probably just get a Sherbert Dip or maybe a Curly Wurly.

#6 Saint. Can't agree with you. Against Odense Hibs were insipid inthe first half with Benji probably the worst player on the park. Gong a goal behind made Hibs more direct and after that we were very unlucky not to go through. You pick the right tactics for the game.

What a pessimistic bunch. We will comfortably beat the Swedes. We play to a higher standard than they do so stop panicking. We'll be fine.

I hope Mixu does his homework for this one, IF Hibs play to their best they may have a chance.

Tough one. Would like to think we can do enough at home to sneak it. If everyone is fit for a change and Jones can keep it tight at the back we'll be alright.

Best of luck to the Hibs. I don't understand why all the pessimism when a Scottish club plays against European sides, its a team from Sweden they are playing not Inter Milan.
