Morais believes Hibs have what it takes

FILIPE Morais is confident Hibernian will finally hit the winning trail against more moderate opposition on Saturday when the new league season kicks off. His side travel to face Kilmarnock after seven defeats in their last eight matches. This run begins to look worse when you take into account the last five matches of last season – none of which were won by Mixu Paatelainen's men.
Morais came on as a second-half substitute in Hibs' latest defeat against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night. While acknowledging it has been a poor pre-season in terms of results he is certain that the signs of life shown after half-time against Wigan, and also against Middlesbrough on Saturday, backs up his manager's insistence that everything will fall into place when it really matters. Hibs have only scored twice in pre-season, and both goals have come from the same source – Steven Fletcher.
"We can't deny the pre-season has not gone well in terms of results," said Morais. "But we have got out of it what we wanted, and that is fitness and sharpness. We look sharp and we are sharp. Killie are not Wigan or Middlesbrough and I can guarantee we will we be over them like a rash. We are going to be pressing and we are going to get goals.
"No-one will remember these pre-season games if we are winning in the league," he continued. "When we were 2-0 up against Middlesbrough the fans were singing like we were top of the league, and everyone had forgotten everything."
