MEROUANE Zemmama has thanked Hibernian for allowing him to join Al Sha'ab in the United Arab Emirates so he can be with his pregnant wife.
The 24-year-old Morocco midfielder, who is set to complete a one-year loan move this week, has vowed to return a better player next season.

Hibs agreed to the switch on "compassionate" grounds after Zemmama discovered Home Office regulations prohibited his 17-year-old wife Zineb from joining him in Edinburgh.

She must be 18 before being allowed to stay in the UK. "I am grateful to the manager and the board for what they are doing," Zemmama told hibs.co.uk.

"I will give everyone my personal thanks on Monday. I know as well the support that is there for me from the Hibs fans. They have always been very good to me since I first came to Hibernian, and now they are being very understanding of my situation.

"I'm well again after my injury and looking forward to playing, getting better over the next year and returning to Hibernian."

I agree.
Good luck to the man.
The SPL could do with a few more of these guys. Quality imported players who are good to watch and who play football the way it should be played.

What critical comments are there in this story exactly? Human drama? Hardly.

Player not happy, club make player happy. It's called compassion. I appreciate that this is an alien concept to the ugly sisters however and will excuse your ignorance.

Like the Pundit, you are becoming more tired, boring and predictable by the day.

You bore me.

Zemmama -Great Skill but a bit lightweight and never fufilled his massive potential--Lack of focus--Cup final he couldnt run the legnth of the pitch- I dont expect to see him back at Hibs unfortunately.

You're right, Dood....
Noted your comments on the Scot U-21 thread.
I'm dulled up to the max with these two idiots...Seems as if they only have each other to impress.

Simple answer to this problem with posters like BTO and the Pundit. The rest of us need to ignore them completely and whoever is the administrator should delete their rubbish ASAP.
Problem solved.

3 bring them on

Sadly the sort of response we all expected from an OF supporter .
Keep taking the tablets - they will have an effect albeit over a long period.

I'm beginning to think that BTO & Pundit are the same person logging on with different email addresses.

Is it me or are football fans becoming more cynical? Everyone keeps looking for hidden agendas these days - why can't we accept what a player or a club tells the press as being true?

To all who have responded in any way whatsoever to the OF posters.

Read #10.

I hope thats the last we hear on the subject.
