A GROUP of protesters were today removed from the chamber of the Scottish Parliament over a housing demo.
The group draped a makeshift banner over the side of the public gallery demanding a financial investigation into the Glasgow Housing Association (GHA).

Two security guards wrestled the sheet from them, before police escorted the group of seven out of the chamber.

It came as MSPs were considering the Commonwealth Games Bill.

The business of Parliament was not interrupted by the incident.

Labours legacy to Glasgow. The corrupt and inbred GHA. A club for failed cooncillors and their cronies to sook away at the gravy, as they always have done to the detriment of the Glasgow vulnerable working class. Where are your socialist policies Wendy what are you doing about this bunch of gangsters?
Labour hang your heads in shame you are abject failures on every front, and deserve nothing less than utter extinction.

#1 That just about sums it up. Keep 'em poor; keep 'em voting Labour.

Oh well, at least they didn't throw anything at the First Minister. I wonder - were they tossed for disrupting the business of parliament or for affronting its dignity?

and then there were the jobs offered to those that had worked in the council, the same jobs and greatly inflated salaries. It was a political creation, as 1 says, to milk the gravy dry and fail their clients.

Just how corrupt is the GHA? Does anyone have specifics? Another poster over on the Herald quoted this:

"Lachie Mor MacDougall, Fort William on 4:22pm today

When everyone is looking into this scandal could we have another look at Jack McConnels brother-in-law who bought five houses for a pound. Former hospital Ladysbridge Hospital, Banff was sold to Robert McLuckie for a pound. The deal was sorted out by a former Labour councillor who stood as an MSP unsuccessfully.

And to think cooncil tenants in Embra were lambasted because the refused to be brow-beaten in to transferring their tenacies over to GHA type association. Going by what's happened in Glesca, they were quite correct.
As far as the GHA experience goes it a case of meet the new landlord, same as the auld landlord, the usual Auld-Lab cronyism.

2 Senga Jean,
Spot on, the tories fixed local boundaries and produced property owning former council tenants to produce new Conservative constituencies, Labour keeps its sink estates so it has a resrvoir of a downtrodden underclasses to 'protect' from the bosses.

Trouble is the 'workers' party' representatives these days aspire to send their kids to public schools, collect knighthoods and lordships, that now even the bosses can't buy, so that more often than not it is impossible to tell the old class enemies apart.

Then we have Bendy Wendy(remember her?) insulting our intelligence by banging the table about her (champagne)socialist ideals, and taking backhanders from property developers, but not deliberately you understand?

Do you support tour guides campaigning for the lion sculpture at Holyrood to stay?
Yes, they are best placed to say how popular it is
No, the sculpture is a lump of populist rubbish
Maybe but it’s more important that locals like it than tourists
