ABORTION makes great news stories; it rears up the fiercest of passions and emotions in politicians and church leaders, and it quite often demoralises women in the 21st century.
The latest bid to lower the maximum term for abortions from 24 weeks from conception to 22 was defeated last week, alongside plans for a more drastic cut to 12 weeks.

"Despite every government's attempt to help working families and provide nursery places, we have to face the fact that, in Scotland alone, there are three million children living beneath the poverty level."

While I appreciate that those employed by the Scotsman to check facts may recoil at the thought of having to wade through Janey Godley's weekly dose of couthy drivel, it should not be beyond their wit to spot the gross error in the above.
