Apparently Des Browne has been awarded the Order of the Spanish Archer (given El Bow) and Peter Mandelson is back - probably as Lord Mandy of Teesmouth or similar.

#1 I was told that Browne was to be replaced by Jim Murphy - in a new role as Minister of the Nations.

#1 The appointment of Mandelson is bizarre indeed - the last thing Brown needs is more Machiavellian politics.

Mandy is back - as some sort of 'business secretary'. LOL. He has twice had to resign for questionable business dealings so there seems a certain irony here.

Brown dislikes Mandy - so its an interesting move; he also represents core NuLab values - so no change factor there, which is likely to turn off voters.

Do we yet know if it is a case of "Move Over Darling"

PS - a song by Doris Day in the early sixties for those of you too young to remember.

Talk about arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic! & as for Mandelson being brought back. It's to run Labours General Election Campaign! These people give shysters & snake oil salesmen a glowing reputation!

Way back in August a wee birdie on the inside told me both Cairns and Browne were going to resign.
I'll have to listen to them more carefully in future.
Nulab's reshuffle is looking more like some suicide cult. They obviously believe in reincarnation with Beckett, Hoon, and Mandy back.

Oooh Mandy, You came and you saved me from failing, and I need you today! Broon's next campaign theme maybe?

I didn't know that you were a Barry Manilow fan.

So Mandy is back again. As I said on another thread, who was it that was accused of "making more comebacks than Frank Sinatra"?

Gordo has finally lost it!! Or is he just taking a leaf out of the Mafia Book of Self Defence.
i.e. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer!!

Mandy is no friend of Gordo's,so I guess he is an enema that has been brought closer.

There is to be a new dept for climate and energy run by one of the Milliband kids... Stupid people.. I agree there should be a dept for energy but having one for climate change as well is just plain daft..

So when does Mandy find the horse's head in his bed. Did Brown make him an offer he coudn't refuse.

Agreed. Maybe Labour are going to have a policy of improving the British weather as a glimmer of hope in winning the next election.

I thought that the Irish Bank initiative was the final straw for Gordon but no he keeps on going with his tom foolery and now we have the biggest cheat and liar making a come back.Strange what makes a good bed fellow!!!!

What a bizzare reshuffle! Bringing Mandelson back from exile is buying a reed for his own back by Gordon Brown. Does he not have enough problems to deal with? Mandelson who proved to be a corrupt and ineffective MP, minister and EU commissioner will put paid to any hope of a Labour recovery! Well done Gordo, bring on the elections!

Sorry for the lack of any real comment. I can't take this seriously, and can barely contain my glee!
Broone's gone!!!!!!!Where for him after this? Back benches for a while, and plan on doing a Mandy? Or to the Lords and plan a Foulkes? Yahbyooty!!!!!!!
Broone's not going away for a long time quietly. You can see his lip curl when Salmond's name is mentioned!

Brown hates Mandy with a vengance. When Mandy asked Brown for 10 pence to phone a friend, Brown gave him 20 Pence and told him to phone them all.

I think its a ploy so that Brown can savour the pleasure of sacking Mandy himself when the ill-fated rebranding of the labour Party fails miserably.
