PRINCE Harry's "Paki" comment was branded unacceptable by Gordon Brown yesterday, as the Defence Secretary, John Hutton, confirmed the young royal would be interviewed by his commanding officer.
But the Prime Minister also said he thought the prince would be given the benefit of the doubt by a public conscious of his combat service and charity work.

Mr Hutton confirmed Prince Harry would be interviewed in the next few days by his Househol
d Cavalry commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Harry Fullerton, about the incident.

Harry was caught on film three years ago referring to Pakistani platoon member Ahmed Raza Khan as "our little Paki friend".

Palace officials said the 24-year-old prince was "extremely sorry" for the comment and stressed that Harry had been speaking to a friend without malice.

Mr Brown, asked about Harry's comments, said: "I think the sincerity of his apology cannot be doubted.

"It was a mistake, he has made the admission of that and, once he has made his apology, I think the British people are good enough to give someone who has been a role model for young people and has done well fighting for our country, gone into very difficult situations with bravery, I think they will give him the benefit of the doubt."

But he added: "I think Prince Harry knows that these comments are unacceptable and I think he has made an apology."

The prince was also criticised by his own charity. WellChild, a charity dedicated to the needs of sick children and their families, of which Harry is patron, said his remarks were "unacceptable".

I am not quite sure whether Lt Windsor is a racist but taking the whole remark in context he seems to be a condescending patronising little snob.

Oh please just give it a rest Scotsman. Most right thinking people have had enough of this and all the fake moral righteous indignation shown by the likes of Brown and the eejits posting above. Shut up about it.

During my twenty or so years in the services I was often referred to as a "Jock". I thought nothing of it but clearly I should have thrown a hissy fit and demanded apologies from the Queen and Tony Blair and sued the UK government for at least £25 billion for hurt feelings.

Complete and utter garbage. This is nothing to what goes on in the military. As a Scot I was subjected to a whole series of nicknames, but they were not meant or taken in a racist context.

Classic Labour political correct trash that this paper laps up in a vain attempt to take the moral high ground.

As for Brown, he should keep his repulsive trap shut. Does he not realise he is making the nation sick?.

I call 1 million dead in Iraq because of the findings of a "dodgy dossier" unacceptable.

I find the death of Dr David Kelly at Labour's hands unacceptable. We all KNOW he did not commit suicide, indeed the book "mysterious death of Dr David Kelly" skewers the suicide myth.

I find the verdict at the inquest of Jean Charles De Menezes' death, unacceptable. How dare the coroner rule out an unlawful killing verdict, that is for the jury to decide, not him!

I call sleaze and corruption in what is known as the New Labour Gravy Train unacceptable.

What are you going to do about that, Gordon?

Well, I find Brown and the actions of his stupid labour party unacceptable too.

A so-called man who is largely responsible for destroying the UK economy is not qualified to pass comment on anything, let alone add to the knee-jerkery surrounding what Prince Harry may or may not have said.

Resign Brown. You know it makes sense.

He had nothing to apologise for. #4 and #5.Perfectly put.As long as you are a minority group of any description,ie different race, coloured, different religion to that of the UK.It is open season on anything and I mean anything which might upset them.Compensation the first thing in their minds. Woe betide you if you are white and have had Placards thrust in your faces and some spitting "furious" individual is screaming "Kill the Infidels, Kill all of them" being roared from point blank range. Then it is just a case of grin and bear it! As for Brown and his sycophantice Marxist they should be properly BRANDED for their craven appease everyone but the British attitude to even terrorists! The TRUTH is abhorrent to those of the PC (Pathetic C***s)brigade
