THERE seems no end to the inflation misery faced by households. With every week, prices of basic essentials such as fuel and food are hitting new records. Yesterday, it was the turn of British Gas to signal another price increase, which could add about £300 to annual heating bills.
The increase will take average domestic gas and electricity bills above £1,200 after a 15 per cent price hike in January. Nor will this be the end of it. Energy prices have continued to climb in world markets. Consumer group uSwitch warns that househ...

Inflation is rising and there is no end in sight?

Are these not the signs of the end of the oil age?

Nope ... it must be another symptom of global warming ... the religion that tells us we have a choice about cutting back our energy consumption and ignores the simple fact that the world economy is about to go into recession due to a lack of energy and when there's no energy you literally can't create anything like enough CO2 to heat the globe even if CO2 had anything to do with the 20th century warming (21st century cooling!).

Or .... it may just be oil men boosting their profits at the expense of the world economy!

Inflation has been running at about 10% since the shower of labour incompetents took over in 1997.

The problem we are seeing now is that they are running out of things that they can exclude from their inflation rate calculations, that give the impression that it is lower than it is.

To calculate inflation, they leave out:-

1. Increases in fuel duty
2. Increases in road tax
3. Increases in alcohol duty
4. Interest rates (unless they are going down)
5. Additional taxes
6. Insurance premium tax
7. Increased liability for inheritance tax
8. Reduction in benefits and removal of tax breaks

In other words, they leave out everything that is artificially created by government. Inflation has been way over what they have stated and now it is coming home to roost.

We need a general strike to get these morons out of power now.

This apparent huge rise in inflation is an illusion.
Just ask Oor Gordon. Inflation is still well under 3 per cent.
It is just that you are all wasting your money on food and fuel instead of champagne, X-Boxes, home cinema systems and all the other little essentials which are all keeping inflation low.

Once upon a time Labour governments used to try and turn around failing economies by borrowing huge amounts of money and then hoping the wasteful spending would boost the economy ... until the spending had to be paid back by the next administration.

The difference with NuLabour is that they got the public to do the borrowing for them in £1,300,000,000,000 of personal debt.

The only economic miracle there has been in the last ten years is the miracle that Gordon got away with being so economical with the truth!
