VOTERS in Lebanon went to the polls peacefully yesterday in a parliamentary election that pits Hezbollah and its allies, backed by Syria and Iran, against an anti-Syrian bloc that has United States and Saudi support.
Before polls closed, the interior minister Ziyad Baroud said turnout had reached 40 per cent.

I merely said that [I believe] Hezbullah is an evil organisation.

fact: they have brought untold suffering to the people they purport to protect

fact: they use civilian areas for staging and launching military attacks

fact: their flag has an assault rifle on it.

fact: their leader cowers in a bunker, is afraid to speak publicly, and endorses a culture of death.

If you honestly think this is a legitimate and beneficial organisation...I digress. This post is not about what you think, per se, (especially regarding George Bush--wtf?) rather, it is in response to the deserved thumping of this evil, yes evil, party in a democratic and well-attended election. Here's to a better Lebanon.

Peace at last in Lebanon is a good omen for future elections. Maybe Nazrallah will lead one day.
