No doubt Willie Schleswig-Holstein Soenderburg-Glucksburg (to use his real name) will get a medal. He'll need something to put on his General or Admiral's uniform in a few years time.

Of course the dull but honest answer to this rather pointless question is no: the minimum length of tour to qualify for a campaign medal in Afghanistan is 4 weeks.

Something tells me that the letter writer was well aware of that fact though.
