Your report (2 October) on the Russian government's rehabilitation of its country's last tsar, Nicholas II and his family was welcome and seemingly accurate, to a degree.
With regard to the appalling international treatment of the late Anna Anderson, who claimed to be "the surviving Grand Duchess Anastasia", starting in the 1920s, I suspect the Romanov descendants and fellow European royals were more interested in the whereabouts of the lost imperial fortune than allowing a traumatised old lady to go to her grave with dignity; that of being her true self.

The remains of all the members of the Czarist family, including his daughter Anastasia, have now been found and positively identified by DNA. This completes the legend, and the myth of a surviving Anastasia should now be laid to rest.
