Robert A C Liddell (Letters, 9 October) finds "it incredulous that Prestwick Airport is not named after Scotland's poet". The main reason is probably because it trades off the misnomer of "Glasgow Prestwick". The solution to Mr Liddell's concern is to rename Glasgow Airport after the poet. Indeed, whoever owns the airport after the break-up of BAA's stranglehold might find "Rabbie Burns International – gateway hub to Europe" an attractive marketing

They could use some of his best lines as a tag for the airport, like the awful "above us only sky" line adopted by John Lennon International...
How about "Ane fond kiss then we sever"?

Some allusion to sexual frolics might be appropriate as with cunning Aer Lingus.

Hugh - good try but we can do better....I think we should rename Glasgow Airport as Capital Airport and listen for the squeals from the east
