The National Theatre of Scotland's phenomenon Black Watch is heading to New York for an unprecedented eight- week run at St Anne's Warehouse in Brooklyn. This it does at the request of "New York", following the sell-out success of its first visit in 2007.
With that in mind I think credit has to be given to those who championed NTS but most of all to the creative team who brought us Black Watch, including Vicky Featherstone, Gregory Burke, John Tiffany and the cast and crew.

We should be immensely proud that the world at large has seen Scotland produce a piece of theatre that resonates around the globe. It has given tartan and bagpipes a reason to exist outside Brigadoon, left the shortbread tin in the green room and set the production bar so high it might not be reached again in a decade.
