Rugby is not the only sport to suffer neglect at the hands of BBC Scotland (Debate & Opinion, 30 September). On Saturday, 4 October, the Colin McRae Stages Rally took place in Perthshire. As a mark of their respect for this Scottish world champion, a number of top rally crews from around the world took part, while nearly 50,000 fans went in to the forests to spectate. There was great media interest worldwide.
I watched Reporting Scotland on Monday expecting at least a mention of this event, but they chose instead to interview a couple of football fans about their team's possible line-ups. If they don't regard such an event as newsworthy, what hope for others?

It's all part of BBC SCotland's underfunding yet BBC England can find £200 million for boring Formula One.

Scottish rallying at least gets some coverage in the national newspapers, unlike shinty, which is recorded to have been played from Galloway to Caithness and in the Central Belt at one point...
