Lib Dems' tax cut demand

LIBERAL Democrats will put a 2p income tax cut at the heart of their Scottish budget proposals, their leader was expected to say today.
Tavish Scott will tell his party's autumn conference in Edinburgh the call will be part of a "radical" package, to include a genuine local income tax and investment in marine energy, as the price of backing SNP budget plans.
Mr Scott will say: "My challenge to the other parties is this – work with us. Build a Scottish budget that meets the needs of these economic hard times."
