Lib Dems' tax cut demand

LIBERAL Democrats will put a 2p income tax cut at the heart of their Scottish budget proposals, their leader was expected to say today.
Tavish Scott will tell his party's autumn conference in Edinburgh the call will be part of a "radical" package, to include a genuine local income tax and investment in marine energy, as the price of backing SNP budget plans.

Mr Scott will say: "My challenge to the other parties is this – work with us. Build a Scottish budget that meets the needs of these economic hard times."

Fantasy economics as this will mean a cut of £800 million a year in the Scottish block grant from Westminster at a time Lib Dem councils are demanding more money to pay for free school meals.

Tax cuts are a great idea but no one will implement them and Westminster will claw them back somehow.

As Brown and Darling squander billions of taxpayers money Tavish thinks it is a good idea to cut taxes. This is fantasy politics with a capital F!

Clearly Tavish is not gifted on the timing front!
