BRITISH swimming heroine Rebecca Adlington has admitted she could chase medals in four separate events at the London 2012 Olympic Games after her success in Beijing earlier this year.
The 19-year-old from Mansfield returned to training for the first time since she won gold medals in both the 400metre and 800m freestyle in the Water Cube at the Games.
And Adlington confirmed she may add 200m freestyle, as well as the 4 x 200m freestyle relay, to her programme and will discuss the matter with her coach Bill Furniss.
She said: "I would love to do all three individual events – the 200m, the 400m, and the 800m. But by then I'll be 23, which is quite old for a distance swimmer.
"I don't know if at 23, my body is going to be able to handle the amount of work I am doing now. If not, I'd settle for the 200m and the 400m."
