INTERIM pre-tax profits at Tribal Group, which provides consultancy work to the public sector on planning and delivering services, have risen to £9.1 million.
The group, which made a pre-tax loss of £3.8m in the first half of 2007, yesterday reported a 22 per cent jump in revenues to £143.6m.
Tribal – which has 47 offices around the UK, including bases in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow – has a market cap of about £120m.
Strone Macpherson, Tribal's chairman, said: "While conditions in the wider economy have clearly deteriorated in recent months, we believe that our core business of working with a broad range of organisations to support the delivery of public services in the UK and, increasingly, overseas should prove resilient".
Peter Martin, the group's chief executive, said he was looking to recruit non-executive directors to serve on Tribal's board.
Tribal is involved in a range of public services, including education, health and housing and regeneration.
The group carries out contracts with both central and local government and said it has worked with 2,500 public sector organisations.
