BRITISH factory output rose twice as fast as expected in August amid a broad-based pick-up that suggested the sector's recovery has not been dented by the strong pound.
The Office for National Statistics yesterday said manufacturing output increased by 0.4 per cent in August, the fourth consecutive rise.
