MOTHERWELL Football Club was in mourning again last night following the sudden death of former star Jamie Dolan.
The fans' favourite died from a suspected heart attack on Sunday in his home town of Bathgate, West Lothian.

Midfielder Dolan's death is the second tragedy to hit the club in less than nine months.

Team-mate and Motherwell legend Phil O'Donnell
collapsed and died on the pitch towards the end of a match with Dundee United in December last year.

A post-mortem examination later revealed O'Donnell, 35, had suffered left ventricular failure of the heart.

Last night, a Motherwell FC spokesman

said: "Jamie was a popular member of the Motherwell squad in the mid-90s and his death has come as a shock to everyone at the club.

"After his retirement from the game in 2002 he retained strong links with Motherwell Football Club, playing an active role in the former players' club and assisting with charity and sponsors' events."

Dolan made more than 200 appearances for Motherwell, before going on to play for Dundee United, Dunfermline Athletic, Livingston, Forfar and Partick Thistle..

Fans yesterday swamped messageboards with tributes to the former star.

One fan said: "I can't believe this, why are all good guys being taken so early."
